AVATAR got a world wide release which means that it is being shown all over the world. The budget of the movie AVATAR was $237.000.000 (estimated).

Some of the reviews that i have found on IMDB about AVATAR say "Nobody directs like James Cameron. Ten years in the works, and every minute was worth it. It is the Star Wars of the 21st century. Though the plot is derivative and bears some pretty close resemblance to Dances with Wolves and a little bit of The Last Samurai, it does not ruin a mind-blowing experience. Avatar has a great future ahead of it and, possibly another Oscar for the mighty James Cameron" This is just one of the reviews i found about the film saying that it is brilliant to see and watch the film.

Another review i found was "I had the rather intense privilege to view James Cameron's much anticipated $400 million budget return to the directing scene, Avatar, at the Empire Leicester Square in London.

Where to begin! The visuals in this pieces was groundbreaking. He did it with the Terminator series and then Titanic, so one would expect Cameron to deliver... and HE DID! The visual are by far some of the sharpest CGI I have seen. You could almost say that there is a disquiet that follows Cameron's soul, as there is no other possibility of this strong and intensified quality. Its production design and visual effects are both noteworthy and it will get its praise upon official release." This is another good review about the film that explains all the good techniques and special effects used to create the film.

The AVATAR website is one of the main places for advertising the film. However due to all the graphics shown on the web page it takes a good couple of minutes to load. The background of the webpage is a picture from the film "The floating cliffs" with the AVATAR trailer in the centre of the page and the trailer automatically starts playing when the website is loaded. The web page looks very graphic and technical which will make people think that the film is going to be very graphic. It has links to websites all over the world which again gives the audience and impression that the film is going to be good. The film is a 12A and i feel the website will appeal to all ages as it looks very children friendly.

The director of Slumdog millionaire is Danny Boyle and is a very well know director. He has directed films such as Shallow Grave, Transportes and 28 Days Later. These are all well know films and all directed by Danny Boyle.

After the film had been released people went to the cinema to see the film but took a video camera with them to illegally film it movie to make pirate copies of the film and sell them on the streets and make money. Also it was posted on You Tube in parts so that people could also see the film via looking at this very well known and used internet site.

The Slumdog Millionaire website is brightly colored, eye catching and looks every similar to the film boxer and DVD cover. it has quotes a

bout what film people and the (winner of 4 golden globes) and also statements that are on the film cover (The Feel- Good Film Of The Decade). The website is very catching and interesting to look at and not one part of the web page doesn't have something going on in it.

Some of the comments that people have put on the IMDB website about Slumdog Millionaire are (FULLY AGREE that it is a good movie, no doubt about it, but it is highly overrated. If u people like this, there are 100s of other Indian Movies that are made much better than this(Both old and NEW). As for Rahman's music, it is GREAT (again no doubt). Another review that i found on the IMDB website about Slumdog Millionaire was (Danny Boyle has been a favorite of mine since I saw Shallow Grave, since then he's gone on to make three masterpieces(Trainspotting,28 Days Later and Millions), a near perfect film(Sunshine) a guilty pleasure(The Beach) and a total miss(A Life Less Ordinary). Slumdog Millionaire comes out of nowhere and it could very well be his best film and one of the best films of the decade. Visually like Boyles previous work it's stunning, Apocalypse Now and City of God come to mind and there are dutch angles galore. The raw style mixed with the amazing locations make this film one of the most cinematic experiences you'll ever see. The Sound is perfect, I haven't heard audio like this in a while.)

One of the reviews i found was " As a British born Indian, I wanted to see Boyle take on his version of a bollywood film with a good mix of his direction, all the charm that most of Indian films have. " This review says that the public thought that the film was a great success and thought that it contains all the correct aspects that a bollywood film should have.

This was due to that amount of viewers wanted to see the film. In the opening weekend Slumdog made £2 million in the UK by 11th January 2009 and also was shown in 324 screens over the UK.

Slumdog millionaire was launched as a new independent movie in the UK. PATHE wanted to use online marketing to build awareness to the public about the film. Also targeting it at niche audiences such as Indian movie lovers and enthusiasts and followers of Danny Boyle.

Slumdog millionaire was re- released due to it smashing the box office records by winning 7 Bafta awards and 8 oscars. This made the public think about how good the film must be and made more and more people go and see the film which bought up the film viewing rates again.

From the trailer i feel that the film is going to be about a boy from a poor country like India who goes on a quiz show and wins lots of money goes back to India, meets a girl and falls in love with her but they shouldn't be together. The film is sort like a love story which the public will like.

The messages that are put across in the film trailer are a boy that lives in the slums in India comes over to England goes on a quiz show. He is really intelligent and wins all the money. He goes back to the slums of India and meets a girl and falls in love with her. This makes in audience interested in watching the film as people will be interested in watching how this boy from india is so smart.

The elements in the trailer to SlumDog Millionaire are love and hate, Lost and found, romance and winning. This areas will appeal to different types of audiences and will attract people to watch the film as they are things that happen in everyday life and people can relate to them.

Slumdog millionaire had a limited release which is called an art-house release and after it had been out for a while it changed over to become a universal film which is called a mainstream release. This was due to the amount of people that watched it. This meant that more cinemas over England show the movie with the producers and film makers did not expect to happen to the film due to film not having very well known actors in the film and also not using specialist/ normal filming equipment to produce the film.

The budget for the film was £8 million. It was produced as an art-based film but the more it got shown the public made it become a mainstream film. The public and film makers didn't have a high expectation for the film so they only released it in a number of cinemas. After the film being out a while the producers realized that it was a big hit and made it a mainstream film. Slumdog Millionaire crossed over from being a art-house film to a mainstream film.

The director of Slumdog Millionaire is Danny Boyal. They choose him to give interviews, radio and magazine interviews because he has directed other films that had been a success. This would draw the public into watching the interviews and reading the magazine articles and they are more than likely to want to go and watch the film. This is another good way to get the public to know about the film and go and watch it. They may ask other people if they have heard about it and persuade them to watch the film as well.

The film was advertised on TV and radio. The public that hear about the film may spread the word to other people and then the film is spread around my word of mouth.

I feel that this film poster helps the audience to learn more about the film. The man and women standing offset in the poster look happy, like they are celebrating something also there is confetti falling over them. The man looks happy and much more exited about something that the women. She seems to be very shy and quiet. The man seems to have what looks like english cloths on. The women looks to have Indian traditional cloths on which will add to the film being set in India.

The bright colours of the title is very eye catching and also the pink and blue are complementary colours. At the bottom of the poster is the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire game show layout. This gives the poster a feeling that the film is going to be a big game.

SLUMDOG = slum means poor / the slums in India and dog meaning, a dog and they are comparing the people who live in the slums in India to dogs meaning that they live in poverty.

The director of SlumDog Millionaire is Danny Boyle. His name is written at the top of the poster to stand out to the audience. He is quite a well know director and I feel that this is why his mane is so clear at the top of the poster.

Which the directors and producers took a risk using, as people want to see well known actors that have been in other films that they can relate to. I feel using real people from the slums was a great idea. They didn't have to act but could be themselves and natural situations. They were just under the pressure of having a camera in their home.

They used a camera called a Innovative SI-2K Digital Cinema Camera which allows them to film in small spaces and not be all cramped.
